ARMANDO GORT, owner of Hire A Pony was born in Havana Cuba. Armando came to the United States in 1970. As a small child in Cuba Armando dreamed of coming to the States and owning his own horse farm, where all children could come and experience the love of animals in a real farm setting. Armando's dream came true in 1994 when he opened HIRE A PONY RIDING ACADEMY IN TAMPA, FL. Armando has welcomed children, from all over Hillsborough and Pinellas County as well as children from different parts of the world to his farm.

Armando started riding at the age of 8. Since then he has moved up to the classes of DRESSAGE, WESTERN, HUNTER and JUMPERS. He can be seen showing his horse AUSTIN at various shows around the state of FLORIDA. Armando's philosophy is, "Dreams do come true.
